Eating Carnivore During World Carnivore Month 2023 - The Start

By Peter from Nutrafarms

Carnivore, Grass Fed Beef, Pasture Chicken, Meat

Hello Everyone! Peter here from Nutrafarms. Thank you for joining me on this journey that I decided (really Kevin - our media guru - convinced me) to participate in December 27th, 2022. hehe. Yes, it was a quick decision.

First, I'd like to disclose that this blog is simply my own experience. I am not a doctor, nutritionist or hold a degree in anything related to biology/health sciences. I'm simply an objective learner who thinks critically, has great professional resources, and is EXTREMELY hypersensitive to my body and how it responds to certain foods/beverages. Also, The fact that I'm using Nutrafarms platforms to share this experience, my beneficial claims from Nutrafarms products are my own and not Nutrafarms claims. Nutrafarms was a no brainer for carnivore to me as I have been on these farms many times, I personally know the farmers and have been working with them for the past decade. I appreciate everything they do to be "different". Now that that is over, lets get into it!

Now this blog is being written on January 19, but I'm going to rewind a bit and recap the experience so far. For those that have followed me since the start on my social platforms, I will do my best to include some new information for you!

START WEIGHT: 193.3 lbs. - January 1, 2023

Let me give you some context: I have been doing the carnivore diet since about the end of October at about 50%. As a single father I organized myself so that when I didn't have my kids, I would eat Carnivore. When I did have my kids, I just ate what I prepared for them. Their mother and I do about 60-40 split. Also, I don't feed my kids fast food. I do my best to feed them whole food, Nutrafarms products like their Grass Fed Beef, and yes we did have the odd treat. 🙋.

WHY CARNIVORE???!!!

As mentioned above in the first paragraph, I didn't decide to do this journey until around December 27th. It was a quick and easy decision. I found 2023 was a great time to raise awareness about what would seem extreme as a way of life. Hundreds of thousands of people do Carnivore and have for 20+ years who feel amazing, experience an amazing quality of life and everything checks out. Plus, having done Carnivore already, it made this decision way more easy this time around. I did Carnivore by accident just before Covid-19 hit us. Now, why did doing it before make it easier this time around? Its easier because I remember how good it made me feel. I remember the reward to making better food choices. I also, remember how bad some of my old favourite foods made me feel after being on Carnivore.

*I understand I wont be able to articulate the contrast between regular consumption and the Carnivore difference in a way you will truly understand. Simply put, if you haven't done Carnivore, I don't feel one would truly understand what it feels like. I personally wouldn't have if I never did the diet already. Something you have to do to experience. The clarity and energy. Its mind Blowing.

More Context About Me: Grew up an athlete. Always lean, naturally. It didn't matter what I ate, I made really poor choices but was still probably around 5% body fat always. Sugar and breads I ate non stop. Then I turned about 32, which was an age my friend Shane warned me about, immediately went from 190lbs to about 225lbs with the same food eating tendencies. I haven't trained since I was about 24 years old. My hockey frequency was dwindling due to the fact I was a new father. Spent my 30's fluctuating between 210-225lbs. I really battled and still do battle with sugar and bread cravings. As early as this past summer I had a 30 day consecutive DQ blizzard streak going, "can i get a medium mint oreo with extra mint please!" 🍦

Honestly, if I can make better "choices", trust me so can you. I was probably way worse than you in regards to eating poorly. I promise. If you want to make a change yourself, start with just a few changes a day. Win those battles in your head. Negotiate. Confidence will come once you recognize you are in control.
